Mayday Magic

Many of you have heard the familiar refrain “how the heck is it May already?!”

I’ll second that and marvel we’re almost at the half-way mark in the year, and I have visions of summer dancing through my head. Here in the Portland Metro area of Oregon, in the lush, beautiful Pacific Northwest, we actually had a snow day just a few weeks ago. Talk about a surprise!

I’m ready for summer to stroll in with it’s sultry self, bringing gardens to life, even more flowers popping and swaying in the breeze, and dogs dashing through sprinklers in between begging for a pat on the head and nose-boops.

My marvelous DIL bought me a compact, standing garden bed so I can enjoy gardening this year, since bending and kneeling are no longer in my repertoire. I’ll post picts after I get it set up and then as things bloom and grow.

I don’t leave the house much anymore, but have a sweet girlfriend (JB you know who you are 💞🏵️) who is an avid gardener and makes frequent forays to garden centers AND who sends me pictures while she’s there so I can enjoy virtual visits with her. It’s amazing to see how clever many of these garden centers are in placement of their wares and decorations. One of these days I may even get over my anxiety about leaving the house and go with her to see them in person!

I’ll need to find time to fit my backyard gardening in between writing and organizing my office, since I have a new book releasing on June 14 that I'm actively editing, and at least one more planned for this year.

I finished up the inspiration wall in front of my office desk, adding a frame with rope to hold photos and information on my current WIP. I like how it turned out!

As time goes on, I’ll be fixing up and redecorating other areas of the office, as well as setting up a corner in my bedroom so I can record TikTok videos, as well as record moi reading chapters of Book 1 in Beacon Bay Magic, Loving Her Holiday Hero. I’ll be posting those on YouTube as they’re ready where you can listen for free.

Bring It On, April!!

April brought me blessed relief from the neck brace I'd worn for 125 days, since my cervical fusion surgery on December 8, 2021. Whew! I'm almost back in the business of feeling and being creative, fingers to keyboard finishing up Book 2 in the Beacon Bay Magic Series, Enchanting Her Defender, due to release on June 14th!! 🎊

With the daily debilitating headaches now relegated to a minor annoyance, who knows? Maybe I'll actually get three books a year published! GASP!! Okay, okay, I won't get ahead of myself and jinx my progress. 😁

I'm one of those folks who, for the majority of my life, feel I've lived in what I coined "The Land of One Thing or Another", where not only does Murphy's Law rule the day, but I'm convinced Murphy must have been a close ancestor cursed by a druid for doing her wrong. Gotta break that curse!

For all my bookish friends, barring any Murphy's Law encounters, Enchanting Her Defender will be released June 14th in both eBook and Paperback formats.

Next up to bat will be Book 2 in the Quicksilver Garou: Lost & Found Mates series, yet to be titled. More news on that in the near future. Check out Book 1 by clicking the image below.

In between the "other" job, and my writing, I've been fiddling with plants on my back patio and in my office, as well as the never-ending quest to organize said office.

I also recently purchased a snazzy microphone and light circle so I can get busy filming video for YouTube and TikTok, as well as thinking about posting faceless videos (where there's a slideshow or video of images) on YouTube with moi reading Book 1 in the Beacon Bay Magic series (Loving Her Holiday Hero), one chapter per video. We'll see how that goes. Y'all may feel a kinship with me when I say I dislike the sound of my own voice, but scads of other folks tell me I have a nice, alto voice. We'll see who's right with feedback on the videos!

In closing...

I hope April brings more than just the promise of May showers.

Bring on the allure of Summer, the bounty of gardens,

butterflies flitting on flowers,

bees buzzing and sharing their pollen,

apple butter,

Sunday pancakes,

sultry kisses,

tight hugs,

and the hope of love and peace in the air.
